Description:
The VocabBuilder is, as its name suggests, an application which aims to build one's vocabulary. It may be a helpful tool for students preparing for the verbal section of various competitive exams like the GRE or the SAT; it may also help aspiring Spelling Bees. And it definitely would help Word-o-philes like me pass the time. Currently, we have 7000 words and meanings, with 2000 of them having example sentences, built-into the application and we aim to increase this number in subsequent releases. The VocabBuilder has 4 different sections, each of which provides a different way of learning/revising a word. 1. The first section has a unique game "uGuess" which challenges you to come up with different words for the given prefix and word length. You play this game against your iPhone/iPod Touch. In a given round you may encounter an average of 5 different words, thereby improving your vocabulary. There is a Score tab which lists your top 10 scores so that you can continue to challenge yourself. 2. It has a "Word of the Day" section which is pretty much self-explanatory. 3. There is a 7000-words dictionary where you can search/explore words. This dictionary will grow in subsequent releases. 4. It also has a Favorites section. Whenever you encounter a word you want to re-encounter, either while playing the game, or while exploring the dictionary, you may mark it as a Favorite and come back later to this section to revisit it.
